Joyce Fournier

"I am a Landscape Painter and Portrait Artist, born and raised in Montreal, now living in Toronto.
As a child, I loved to draw and was fascinated with the way places and people changed with the variations in light. I painted my first portrait at the age of 14 and have never looked back. While art has always been a major influence in my life, I initially pursued careers first in Health Care and then in Business. During that time I never forgot my true passion and made a plan to eventually pursue art full time. I have now reached this stage!
While my work can be categorized as Contemporary Realism consisting of landscapes, architecture and figurative works executed in several different media, I am most drawn to the beauty of the human figure and face, thus, most inspired by figurative works and portraiture. Capturing a model's unique features and expression is very satisfying to me as an artist".

Over the years Joyce has been fortunate to receive several commissions which include personalized landscape paintings, book illustrations, and most recently a commemorative group portrait drawing for the Canadian Military.
